Paddy Mac Namara is a Mechanical Engineer and has been teaching in Bolton Street since 1994.  He did his primary degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at TCD and completed his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in UL, in the area of stress analysis of knee joint replacements.

He spent 5 years working in Industry,, working on Electronic Connectors in Molex, Shannon Co. Clare, and Automotive Components in Donnelly Mirrors, Naas Co Kildare.

He teaches Mechanics of Materials and Mechanics of Machines on the both Level 7 and 8 Degree programmes. He has been project supervisor on the level 7 programme for more years than he cares or is able to remember.

Paddy enjoys cycling for exercise and clearing the head. He is also a keen railway modeller and has had articles published in railway modelling journals.   He lives in Sallins Co Kildare.
