3D Assist Prosthetic Arm for Davy
Biomedical Design students, Aoife O'Donnell and Áine Hughes had a great day fitting a customised "Spiderman" prosthetic arm for 4-year-old Davy.
A number of weeks ago Davy, his twin sister Daisy and his mother Nicola visited us and were 3D scanned so we could customise and 3D print a very special arm (and a couple of surprise extra arms) for Davy.
This special event was completed through the 3D Assist voluntary group within the School of Mechanical Engineering and was fully funded through fund raising by the student volunteers, so congratulations to all involved.
