International Women’s Day at SEEE
Recently, staff from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Central Quad in the Grangegorman Campus held a lunchtime event to celebrate International Women’s Day. A past graduate of our TU821 degree programme in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Leanne Dicker, came in to speak to our students about her experiences as a student, a graduate and now as an experienced engineer at Arup. Leanne is also a diversity advocate and gave a compelling account of her work and career to date-including a great overview on the work at the National Childrens’ Hospital.
With Leanne was Isabel Wong, a member of Arup’s graduate programme, who travelled to Ireland mid-pandemic to work in their Dublin offices and gave an excellent insight into what working as a new graduate is like in a large organisation.
