Sean Smyth is programme chair for Construction Site Management (DT149A) at the Dublin School of Architecture. An award winning Carpenter/Joiner, graduate in Construction Site Management at TU Dublin and Building Conservation at West Dean College. He has worked in industry and the public service in a wide varity of roles, from carpenter to Building Inspector and comes to TU Dublin with a long family history in the construction industry. His interests include conservation and construction with a special interest in the promotion and assessment of “Quality” in the construction industry. He has held the position of Chairperson twice for the Dublin Chapter of The Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate and is one of a handful of traditional Irish harp makers in Ireland.
