Patrick Daly is a leading academic, consultant, and researcher in the field of sustainability in the built environment. He lectures part time on the online TU412 Postgraduate Certificate, TU413 Postgraduate Diploma and TU414 MSc in Building Performance (Energy Efficiency in Design). He is also Principal Investigator on the Horizon 2020-funded Drive 0 Project.
With a background in Architectural Technology and Project Management, Patrick has over 25 year’s architectural project experience across a range of domestic and commercial building types/sectors in both Ireland and the UK. Patrick developed a specialization in Energy and Environmental building design and construction after undertaking an MSc (Architecture) in Advanced Energy and Environmental Studies and over the last decade has built a diverse and significant portfolio of design, consultancy and research work in this field. Patrick has completed a second MSc in Research Methods in the Built Environment and is actively pursuing Doctoral studies.

iLEEiD House
Design and construction of Ireland’s first Zero Energy Eco House for which he won SEAI and Green Energy Awards.
Low Energy Buildings
Facade performance and energy modelling of low energy buildings, both residential and commercial, including Passive and NZEB,
Ecological Materials
Ecological materials including an EPA EU funded study into Hemp Lime as a construction material in Ireland.

Consultancy and research into a range of building products and system services.
Community Energy Analysis
Research and energy analysis studies at local and regional scale.

Patrick has been a key note speaker at the Brazilian CONTECS conference on sustainable construction and is collaborating with researchers and academics in the Federal University of Matto Grosso
Africa
Patrick is involved in a faith based ministry in Africa based in Uganda and has helped establish a foundation there caring for street children and developing community based transformation in the ghettoes of Kampala.
