I am a graduate of the school of Architecture in DIT Bolton Street and graduated in 1998. I have also completed an MSc Environmental Design of Buildings in Cardiff University and graduated with a distinction in 2009.
I worked as an Architect in O’Dwyer and Associates Architects in Dublin from 1998 to 2009 where I gained experience working on all stages of a wide range of projects from one-off dwellings to large residential and commercial developments.
I completed the RIAI professional practice examination in 2010 and was awarded the ‘Deirdre O’Connor’ medal for best results in professional practice. I have completed a number of courses related to energy efficiency in buildings including a CPD Diploma in Thermal Bridge Assessment, (DIT, 2014), a Post Graduate Certificate course in Professional Energy Skills in nZEB (DIT, 2016) and a Certified Passive House Designer Course (Passive House Academy, 2016).
I am working in IHER Energy Services. IHER Energy Services is an independent energy consultancy company with an expertise in Training Services, Building Energy Rating, Consultancy and Research Services and Commercial Energy Auditing. I deliver a QQI Level 6 Building Energy Rating Training Course and RIAI CPD course for architects on DEAP and compliance with TGD L (dwellings). I have worked on the Intelligent Energy Europe (IEE) Episcope Project, IEE NZEB Open Doors Ireland Campaign; Horizon 2020 QualiBuild Project (DIT) and the Dublin City Council ‘Built to Last’ project – Energy Efficiency in pre-1945 Historic Dwellings in Dublin City. I am currently providing energy consultancy services on deep retrofit projects, NZEB and Part L compliance solutions for new dwellings and on thermal modelling projects, including the development of certified details for y-value calculations.
