Joint Geographic Sciences and Environment & Planning Coastal Zone and Marine Management Field Trip
A joint TU Dublin student group (from the BSc Environmental Management and Spatial Planning, together with students from the BSc. Geographic Sciences programmes) together with their lecturers Helen Murray and Paul Lawlor, spent yesterday afternoon looking at the complexity of managing the coast, starting their field visit at the Esplanade in Bray, and walking a coastal route to Greystones Harbour.
The aim of this coastal visit (part of TU Dublin’s Coastal Zone and Marine Spatial Management modules) was to explore what contrasting management responses have taken place, or could be considered in the future, to respond to coastal changes along the route. It certainly was a case of walking and talking … great insights and discussions were had along the way – not to mention some great views!
