'Form Follows Fuel: building our way into (and out of?) Climate Emergency' - a lecture by Barnabas Calder
The TU Dublin School of Architecture, Building and Environment is delighted to invite to all staff and students to attend a lecture by Calder lecture 251122 this Friday 25 November at 17:00-18:00. The lecture is an in-person lecture in Room 259, Bolton Street.
The lecture will look at the world's architectural past and present to understand how buildings have helped drive the planet towards catastrophe, but also how we can quickly change path and take a leading role in escaping climate emergency into a happier, fairer, cleaner world.
Barnabas Calder is the author of Architecture: From Prehistory to Climate Emergency (Pelican, 2021), described by Professor Florian Urban as 'one of the most important architectural publications of recent years', and Raw Concrete: The Beauty of Brutalism (William Heinemann, 2016). He is Senior Lecturer in Architecture at the University of Liverpool, and a trustee of the Society of Architectural Historians of Great Britain.
Barnabas will attend reviews and teaching sessions with BArch and MArch students during his visit to TU Dublin this week, as part of the HCI Resilient Design Curricula* project.
