Demolition Take Down installation
Are you making plans in for Culture Night 2024? Make sure that you have the Demolition Take Down installation at the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) on you itinerary.
Demolition Take Down is pleased to announce that they are running an exhibition in the central courtyard for IMMA’s Earth Rising Festival & Culture Night 2024 from the 20 - 22 September 2024. The Demolition Take Down project is creatively exploring the scale of construction and demolition waste created in Ireland and looking to point towards potential solutions.
Demolition Take Down sees the installation as a conversation-starter and an opportunity to engage with the public and wider construction industry on the topic of demolition; the projects is also calling the general public to visit the exhibition and supporting events.. It will be a key feature of the Earth Rising festival and Culture Night 2024 (20– 22 September ). Look out for construction industry student invigilators during the Earth Rising festival from the School of Architecture, Building and Environment along with students from the School of Surveying and Construction Innovation at TU Dublin.
A panel discussion with Susannah Hagan, Carole Pollard, Shane Caldwell, Joseph Kilroy, and Emer Byrne will take place at 3pm on 22 September at the Johnston Suite in IMMA to expand on the themes of the exhibition.
Demolition Take Down was established by Islander Architects and is a recipient of the Creative Climate Action Spark Fund, an initiative from the Creative Ireland Programme. It is also kindly funded by IPUT, the SCSI, the RIAI, the IAF and the School of Architecture Building and Environment TU Dublin as part of Building Change.
