Dr Fiona Murray is Head of Discipline, Applied Probability, Statistics & Data Analysis at the School of Mathematics & Statistics (formerly School of Mathematical Sciences). Prior to this she was an Assistant Head of School from 2014 to 2022.

Fiona worked for over 18 years across Ireland, US and UK in the semiconductor, steel and electricity supply industries mainly in the areas of time series forecasting, large-scale industry optimisation and supply chain modelling. Fiona completed her MSc in Industrial Mathematics and her doctorate in Time Series Forecasting. Her research interests include neural networks, structural state space models, and multi-time-scale forecasting integration.
