Dr Blathnaid Sheridan is a Lecturer in the School of Mathematics & Statistics. She graduated with a BA from UCD in 2001 before completing a Postgraduate PME in Secondary Teaching in St Marys University London in 2003. Following this she returned to UCD in 2003 to complete an MSc in Mathematical Sciences after which she joined the DIT School of Mathematical Sciences (now the School of Mathematics & Statistics) as an Assistant Lecturer in September 2004 and has worked there since. Blathnaid completed her doctorate in Education (Ed.D) in the University of Sheffield in 2010 and her research interests mainly lie in the area of mathematics education at third level, diagnostic testing in mathematics and the first-year experience.
