Nicole Beisiegel speaks at ECCOMAS Congress 2022
The 8th European Congress on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences and Engineering (ECCOMAS Congress 2022 ) took place in Oslo, Norway from June 5-9, 2022. A total of 1914 participants from over 50 different countries travelled to Oslo. For many of them, it was their first in-person meeting in years!
Dr Nicole Beisiegel (Lecturer in the School of Mathematical Sciences) spoke at the minisymposium on Computations in Environmental and Geophysical Fluid Mechanics about her recent work on an adaptive model for meteotsunamis. She discussed a comprehensive suite of testcases designed to verify model capabilities essential to the simulation of Proudman resonances that are the main mechanism behind meteotsunamis.
With its many parallel sessions on a variety of topics in science and engineering, the Congress offered an excellent opportunity for researchers to exchange ideas and learn about the work of others. Overall, the meeting in Oslo was a great success.
