Mathematics work placement students at Zurich Ireland
We recently visited Zurich Life Assurance as part of our series of workplace visits to our third-year undergraduate students. All our full-time undergraduate students studying the BSc programme TU874 Mathematical Sciences undertake a work placement in one of our partner companies. Our partners are selected to provide an interesting and rewarding experience working in one of the many sectors where mathematicians and statisticians are highly valued and find frequent employment.
Zurich Ireland is a leading company in life assurance and our students have been experiencing work as part of Zurich's Actuary group and Pricing group.
Once again, it was thrilling to see the enthusiasm of our students and the warm welcome they are receiving from their supervisors in the company. It is enormously valuable to our students to gain this experience which gives them an advantage when starting their careers after graduation.
