Central Statistics Office hosts Mathematics work placement students
The Central Statistics Office (CSO) annually hosts students from our TU874 Mathematical Sciences programme as part of their work placement. It is a fabulous opportunity for our students to experience and contribute to the main provider of statistical data to the State. The CSO provides the information and analysis that informs government policy and planning and that will fundamentally affect our everyday lives.
Our student, Callum, has been working with the Balance of Payments division at the CSO. He has been doing excellent work developing an online dashboard that will greatly improve their handling of survey data.
Our graduates finish their degrees with the skills and experience necessary to seamlessly progress and succeed in their chosen careers thanks to the important partnerships within the School, exemplified by the CSO. We hope Callum and all his peers enjoy the remainder of their placements and the benefit of real-world experience.
