Seán is Head of Digital Transformation in the School of Enterprise Computing and Digital Transformation at TU Dublin. Seán has been a lecturer in Computing at TU Dublin’s Tallaght Campus for over than 23 years.  Prior to his academic career, Seán has worked in senior ICT management roles in local government and the health sector in Ireland.  Seán has studied at undergraduate and postgraduate level at University of Dublin, Trinity College, University College Dublin and the Open University. He has taught across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, particularly in the areas of advanced database technologies and machine learning.  Seán has a special interest in engaging with industry on work-based learning initiatives for students. He has pioneered the development of internship programmes for both undergraduate and postgraduate computing programmes. Seán is an active researcher in Computer Science education and has recent publications in this field.  Seán was chosen as a Convene Enterprise Fellow in 2022 with the aim of developing an innovative, flexible, inclusive alternative pathway to traditional work placements.
