Sunny Grewal is a part-time Assistant Lecturer in marketing and business computing in TU
Dublin at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and a Ph.D. Student in the College of
Business, TU Dublin, under the supervisionof Dr. Etain Kidney (Head, School of Marketing,
TU Dublin), and Dr. Patrick Kenny (Assistant Head, School of Marketing, TU Dublin). Sunny
holds a master’s in International Marketing Management & International Business from
Cardiff Metropolitan University, where he received the ‘Student of the Year’ Award & BA
from Sunrise University in Public Administration and Political Science.
His research, on the topic of “Digital Inclusion and Literacy in Rural India” is funded via the
Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India scholarship NOS 2021-22
which he won via a competitive process.
This research explores the accessibility and usability of digital technology in rural India, as well as
awareness of how to utilize different online services. Hence the study entitled ‘Digital inclusion and
literacy in rural India’. The effect of digital inclusion on the status of digital literacy among the rural
population in Jhajjar district, Haryana was investigated in this research. It is essential to close the
digital literacy gap and improve digital literacy in rural India in order to realize this dream. In rural
India, the male-female parent, teachers, and student divide in access to and usability of digital
technology and information must be bridged respectively.
