Representing the School of MPO at the Strategic Management Society Conference in Istanbul!
We're thrilled to share that Donal O'Brien (TU Dublin School of Management, People and Organisations) and Davin Dunlea (School of Tourism and Hospitality Management, and PhD candidate in the Graduate Business School) represented us at The Strategic Management Society (SMS) Conference in Istanbul.
Joined by TU Dublin Faculty of Business alumni Esther Tippmann from the University of Galway, who chairs the Global Strategy Interest Group at SMS, Dónal and Davin presented their insightful paper titled: “Exploring the Microfoundations of Capability Development in Multinationals through the Transformational Learning Experiences of their Managers.”
Their work, showcased in the Global Strategy track, delves into how transformational learning can shape the development of core capabilities within multinationals—a key topic given today’s dynamic global landscape.
The SMS conference, a leading platform for global strategic management scholars, hosted over 1,500 attendees this year in İstanbul, Türkiye. This vibrant city, with its unique blend of history and culture, provided an inspiring backdrop for examining the “fault lines, contradictions, and divergences” within strategic management research.
Congratulations to all involved for their contributions to advancing global strategy knowledge!
