Entrepreneurship in Action: Students Raise €11,484 for Charity

The spirit of entrepreneurship is alive and thriving within the TU Dublin School of Management, People and Organisations!

This year, 12 students from our Year 3 Business and Management degree programme, who are taking the Venture Creation module led by Thomas Cooney, have raised an incredible €11,484 for various charities.

This achievement stems from a unique assignment designed to immerse students in the entrepreneurial process. As part of their coursework, students:

 - Develop innovative fundraising ideas.
 - Organise and execute their initiatives within a single semester.
 - Partner with a charity of their choice to gain hands-on experience and deeper insights into the world of nonprofit work.

Working in groups of three, the students set ambitious fundraising goals, targeting €2,000 per group. Not only did they exceed these expectations, but they also demonstrated how creativity, teamwork, and determination can generate real impact.

Over the lifetime of this module, students have collectively raised over €910,000 for Irish charities. This year’s cohort continues to add to this proud legacy, proving that entrepreneurship is about more than just profits—it’s about purpose.

Here’s to the next generation of entrepreneurial changemakers!

Congratulations to the students for their hard work, and thank you for making a difference in our community.
