Dynamic Collaboration Unveiled: Penn State University Engages with School of Management, People and Organisations for Immersive Industry Experience!
Ann Masterson, Head of the HRM Discipline at the TU Dublin School of Management, People and Organisations had the pleasure of welcoming a group from Penn State University this week, comprising mainly graduate HRM & IR students, led by their Programme Director Trisha Everhart and Lecturer Maja Vidović.
The week kicked off with an enriching visit to the EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, where we delved into the invaluable contributions of Irish people worldwide. A huge thank you to EPIC's HR Director Catherine Smith McKiernan for her engaging presentation on the evolving role of HR Directors in Ireland, and to the Operations Director for stressing the pivotal relationship between line managers and HR. The students' enthusiasm and insightful questions made this visit truly memorable.
Tuesday brought us to the iconic Diageo offices on Thomas Street, where we were graciously hosted by HR Director Geraldine Joanes. Her candid insights into Diageo's progressive HR policies, coupled with personal leadership advice, left a lasting impression. And of course, no visit to Dublin is complete without a stop at the Guinness Storehouse!
At the TU Dublin School of Management, People and Organisations, we're dedicated to forging collaborations with esteemed universities like Penn State, and we're excited to nurture these relationships for future collaborations. Our strong industry connections were also on display during this visit, exemplifying our commitment to bridging academia and industry.
Looking forward to more enriching engagements ahead!
