Ann Masterson Appointed to National Skills Council, Strengthening the School of MPO’s Role in Shaping Ireland’s Skills Future
We are proud to announce that Ann Masterson, Head of the Human Resource Management discipline at the School of MPO, has been appointed by Patrick O’Donovan, Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, as a member of the newly reformed National Skills Council (NSC). This prestigious appointment marks a significant professional milestone for Ann and is a testament to her expertise in industry-university collaborations and skills development.
The National Skills Council is set to play a crucial role in advancing Ireland’s lifelong learning performance by promoting reskilling and upskilling initiatives. These efforts are vital for enabling society and industry, particularly SMEs, to adapt to the rapid changes driven by digitization, artificial intelligence, decarbonization, and demographic shifts.
Ann’s inclusion on the Council not only supports her ongoing doctoral research, which focuses on optimising industry-university collaborations in skills and program development but also ensures that the School of MPO and TU Dublin has a strong voice in advising the Government on strategic skills priorities. This involvement will be pivotal in shaping innovative educational programs that align with the evolving needs of the workforce and the broader economy.
We extend our sincere congratulations to Ann on this outstanding achievement.
