Successful Secondment for Elaine Rossiter Trip at the University of Ljubljana!

Published: 26 Aug, 2024

We are delighted to share the experiences of our colleague, Elaine Rossiter, who recently completed part of her GETM4 secondment at the University of Ljubljana from 23rd July to 6th August 2024, as part of Work Package 4 (WP4) – Industry Impact (Research). This secondment was hosted by Dr. Nada Zupan and Dr. Ziva Kolbl, and it focused on understanding the expectations and needs of employers in the context of digitalization and disruptive events, specifically employee competencies for managing change.

Elaine’s work involved interviews with HR managers and employees in Ireland, capturing insights on entrepreneurialism, health, wellness, and happiness in organizations. During her secondment, she dedicated time to transcribing and analyzing this valuable data. In meeting with Dr. Zupan and Dr. Kolbl, Elaine gained clarity on how her research aligned with the overarching goals of WP4.

Reflecting on the experience, Elaine remarked, "The face-to-face meetings were crucial for aligning our research goals and building a strong sense of partnership. It was an invaluable experience for understanding how my work contributes to the larger picture of creating a supportive entrepreneurial environment for digital innovation in SMEs and other organizations."

Beyond the professional development, Elaine enjoyed the beauty of Ljubljana, exploring iconic places like Lake Bled and the Postojna Caves, and enjoying delicious local cuisine at Slovenska Hiša-Figovec.

Elaine extends her heartfelt thanks to Nada and Ziva for being such welcoming and inspiring hosts. We look forward to seeing the impactful results of this collaborative research!
