As a teacher, I take responsibility for students learning and development. For me, teaching is an opportunity to engage with those who will have future opportunities to positively impact society. To encourage student participation, I use active learning techniques to draw individuals into class discussions. During such discussions, I ask students questions and use their responses as a scaffold for the concepts to be covered during that class period. I want students to feel that our classroom is a discussion forum where we can share ideas about the subject matter without fear of prejudice or ridicule and contribute to their own educational experience. I want students to enjoy the interaction in our classroom and to be challenged by the discussion of course material.
I have found great satisfaction from working with students of various cohorts. Discussing and explaining academic principles and how they may be applied in a practical industry setting. I am a huge believer in personal development and growth, and as such I am very much enjoying this opportunity to work with and support students on their own academic journey.
To date I have been engaged with learning modules at Under-Graduate / Post- Graduate / Apprenticeship levels. Prior to my teaching career, I have over 25 years industry experience working in Supply Chain & Logistics sector with experience in the following areas:
