London Day Trip for MSc Fashion Buying & Management students
The Masters in Fashion Buying and Management students recently had an opportunity to travel and immerse themselves in London’s fashion scene. Their trip included visiting the Victoria and Albert (V&A) Museum, Dover Street Market, and Selfridges, allowing students to explore fashion history, design innovation, and retail expertise, which is essential to their studies.
One of the highlights of the trip was a visit to the Naomi in Fashion exhibition at the V&A, showcasing the legendary career of Naomi Campbell. The exhibit offered students a look into the impact Campbell has had on fashion, culture, and representation in the industry. They marveled at iconic pieces from her career, examining couture creations, editorial work, and runway moments that defined decades of style.
The students also explored Dover Street Market, an avant-garde retail space that blends art and fashion. Students appreciated the creativity behind the layout and the array of cutting-edge designs on display, making it a valuable stop to learn about the intersection of fashion, innovation, and retail.
Selfridges was another stop on the agenda, one of London’s premier luxury shopping destinations. Selfridges offered impeccably curated floors where students got an in-depth look at brand storytelling, luxury merchandising, sustainability, and customer engagement. They observed how the department store presents high fashion to an international audience, balancing heritage with contemporary appeal.
