Exploring the Benefits of AI in Business: Insights from the Workshop for Danish CEOs organized by Explainable Analytics Group of the School of Business Technology, Retail and Supply Chain
The Explainable Analytics Group at TU Dublin hosted a workshop called "Applying Artificial Intelligence in Business Landscape and Future" on May 1, 2024. Twenty Danish CEOs and members of the Danish Embassy attended the event. The Danish Embassy in Ireland directed CEOs under the "Virksomhedsledelse" (Company Leadership Programme), and the workshop was one of the planned activities held at TU Dublin's Aungier Street Campus. Dr. Atif Qureshi led the workshop, with support from Dr. Wael Rashwan and Dr. Bilal Yousuf.
The objective of the workshop was to explore the benefits of using artificial intelligence in businesses. Participants gained insights into various topics such as the different roles of data science and AI, opportunities and benefits for collaborations between academia and industry, appropriate technological expectations within a planned budget and the nature of collaboration, the influence of GDPR on AI progress, a healthcare industry case study showcasing the significance of explainable AI, an overview of previous and ongoing funded projects, and future predictions for AI in business.
In the end, participants were handed out a reflective exercise, creating a mind map on an "AI Transformation Canvas." The workshop was designed to encourage interactive learning and was well-received by all attendees. The event was part of a larger company leadership program planned by the Danish Embassy.
