Dr Fiona Faulkner is a Lecturer of Mathematics at TU Dublin. She is a qualified secondary school Mathematics and Physical Education teacher (BSc 2004- 2008) with a PhD in Mathematics Education (2008-2012), both from the University of Limerick, Ireland. She primarily lecturers in Access and International (Pathway) education. In conjunction with this she is involved in PhD research supervision and numerous collaboartive mathematics education projects. Fiona was National Academic Coordinator on the Professional Diploma in Mathematics for Teaching at the University of Limerick. This programme is run out of EPI*STEM - the National Centre for STEM Education in Ireland. She continues to have active research links and pedagogy lecturing engagement with EPI*STEM. Her research interests lie in the areas of profiling at-risk students in mathematics education, curriculum change in second level mathematics education and continuous professional development, in particular focusing on out-of-field teachers of mathematics. Fiona has also won awards for her contribution to mathematics support in access education.
