Colin O’Connor is a lecturer in strategic hospitality management and programme Chair for the BSc in International Hospitality Management programme. Currently he is also the Academic co-ordinator of Oman Tourism College/TU Dublin international partnership, and the Marriott Foundation Scholarship programme with Purdue University.

Colin has actively led many international partnerships and research projects including Tsinghua University Beijing and the University of Innsbruck, Austria, in addition to periods of guest lecturing at the above universities but also including Haaga-Helia University in Finland.

Colin has served as an independent expert witness in the field of hospitality management education and the hospitality industry.

Colin is an MBS graduate from Dublin City University, holds a BSc in Management from the University of Dublin and is a graduate of Hospitality Management from the Dublin Institute of Technology. He also holds a postgraduate diploma in Third Level Learning and Teaching and an MA in Third Level Learning and Teaching.

Before joining TU Dublin, Colin served as a management consultant specialising in Hospitality and Tourism with BDO Ireland Consulting. Colin has also held several professional positions in the Hospitality Industry, namely Starwood Hotels and Resorts in the U.S., as well as several leading Irish hotels.
