She is an experienced mentor and moderator, regularly guiding collaborations among small project teams and with large organisations over fixed timeframes. She is experienced in preparing tenders and manages contracts through her own company.
Teaching Profile
Valerie Connor lectures on the BA Photography TU Dublin City Campus. She teaches modules in visual studies and curating photography and is a thesis supervisor.
She is an experienced external examiner having worked on level 8 programmes for over 20 years. Connor has been an Aurora programme delegate from TU Dublin as part of the Athena Swan Charter for gender equality in higher education and research.
She designed an action research project for her MSc in applied eLearning research to inquire into the implications for applying emerging theories of curation to learning and teaching practices from within the field of educational research. The design of the project was informed by her curatorial experience in the cultural sector and prior MPhil research undertaken at the Centre for Women’s Studies at Trinity College Dublin.
