Profile
Tom Jenner’s personal photographic practice investigates notions of identity and place.
He holds a BA (Hons) and MDes from the Edinburgh College of Art, where as a student he was elected sabbatical President of the Students Representative Council. He also holds a Foundation Certificate in Art (with Merit) from Hastings College of Arts and Technology, and a Certificate in Learning and Teaching from Institute of Technology Tallaght.
After graduating he worked as the Technician in the Photography Department within the School of Visual Communications, with responsibility for teaching the technical skills of photographic practices
Solo shows include:
- RE-ARM, which was a series of surreal and ecological art installations produced in association with the Tree Council of Ireland and the support of local authorities and Coillte (2009, 2006, 2005, 2004)

- Traverse Theatre Gallery, Edinburgh (1999)
- ECA International Festival Exhibitions, Edinburgh (1998).

In 2018 he was shortlisted for the Zurich Portrait Prize exhibited at the National Gallery of Ireland.
Lecturing Profile
Tom Jenner is Lecturer of Photography on the BA (Hons) Media Production & Digital Arts programme at TU Dublin, Tallaght Campus.
He designed and wrote the production-based photography modules of the Media Production & Digital Arts programme to intersect with the other practical and theoretical modules across the four-years of this studio-based programme.
His modules include:

- Documentary Photography
- Advanced Photographic Techniques
- Professional Photographic Practices
He also works closely with Rua Red, South Dublin Arts Centre, in the production of the annual Degree Show staged at the venue.
