Tadhg Peavoy is an award-winning journalist, content creator, photographer, filmmaker and voice artist, who has lectured in Journalism and Communications at TU Dublin since 2016.
Tadhg holds a BA Biblical and Theological Studies with French from Trinity College Dublin and an MA Film and TV Production from the University of Bristol.
Tadhg began his journalism career at RTÉ where he served as a journalist across the national broadcaster’s digital and broadcast channels. During this period, he had a focus on sport as well as travel and culture journalism. His experience during this period includes the coverage of a number of major international sporting events, including Rugby World Cups; Olympic Games; UEFA European Championships; and FIFA World Cups.
He has created an array of articles, columns, broadcast content, sponsored content and PR content for a variety of outlets, including RTÉ, The Irish Times, the Irish Independent, the Irish Daily Star, The Irish Sun, The Herald, Buzz.ie, Eir Sport, Balls.ie, Travelmag.co.uk, TravelExtra.ie, TootLaFrance.ie, Ireland’s Big Issue, the Dublin Gazette, Umano, CelticCanada.com, MACKEENE clothing, EPath Digital, TravelMedia.ie, RIT Vacations, Gorta – Self Help Africa, Ray Cooke Auctioneers and DB Sports Tours. His work has been across all areas of the media including sport, culture, travel, current affairs, property and business.
He has won several awards for journalism and academia, including:
- A French Travel Media Award, and was nominated twice for further FTMAs.
- He was a member of editor Gary Quinn's multi-award winning The Irish Times Content Studio team.
- Best Video Editing award at Crashfest for his work on the short film A Quick Beep.
- Conjointly awarded the Robert King Memorial Prize for his BA thesis at Trinity College Dublin for that year's best Theology thesis. He also won the Ryan Award at the same university for the highest undergraduate mark in Systematic Theology in his Senior Freshman year.
- Voice artist on the feature documentary A Call to Arts: winner of the Audience Choice Award (Documentary) at the Mystic Film Festival.
He has previously served as Head of Department of Creative Media and Assistant Head of the School of Media at TU Dublin.
