Profile
Dr Kevin Hora, MRPII is Head of Discipline – Journalism and Communications.
His PhD on the history of propaganda in Ireland was awarded by Trinity College Dublin, while he also holds a Postgraduate Diploma and MA in Public Relations from DIT, and a BA Moderatorship in History and French from Trinity College Dublin.
Formerly, he was Programme Chair of the MA in Public Relations and MA in Public Affairs and Political Communications delivering the core theory and practice modules on both.
His research interests include contemporary and historical political communication and public relations theory and practice, and broadly-based Irish media history. He has supervised doctoral research to completion and is currently supervising PhD research on the Ghanaian diplomatic service’s use of PR as a form of public diplomacy and, with a Government of Ireland scholar, how Irish female politicians used social media for identity construction.
A peer reviewer for Routledge, Irish Communications Review and Humanities and Social Sciences Communication and Administration (Institute of Public Administration), his publications include two books and a number of articles:

Lecturing Profile
Kevin Hora has taught the core theory and practice modules on the MA in Public Relations and MA in Public Affairs and Political Communication. His other modules include:

- the MAPAPC Internship
He has previously taught Marketing (MAPR) and Political Structures (MAPAPC), and supervised MA dissertations.
Kevin has supervised to completion and examined PhD candidates. He welcomes enquiries from candidates intending to pursue PhDs specifically in the fields of contemporary political communication, public relations theory and practice, and the history of public relations and propaganda, and more broadly based twentieth-century Irish and media histories.
