Profile

Kevin Duffy is an active media practitioner with an acclaimed body of work and development to his name.  His work has featured in numerous festivals and been broadcast on RTE, the Irish national broadcaster. • 2021: Times Like These (3mins, Director and Director of Photography) A charitable music film for teenaged children with troubled backgrounds.
• 2020: The New Normal (4mins, Director and Director of Photography) An experimental film that capturing the drifting world that emerged in the face of pandemic and lockdown.
• 2019: A Mother (4 mins, Director and Director of Photography) A personal reflection on the memories rekindled upon the death of one’s mother. Premièred at The Waterford Film Festival, Ireland 2019.
• 2015: Budapest on Film (15min, Director and Director of Photography) A short documentary about the Film School at the Central European University in Budapest.
• 2012: Life Through a Lens (10mins, Director of Photography) An intimate documentary about the esteemed Irish photographer, Bill Doyle. Dir Anthony Haughey
• 2011: Ballymun Lullaby (72 mins, Director of Photography) A feature length documentary celebrating the resilience of the Ballymun community in Dublin as their school choir records an album for Christmas release with the RTE National Symphony Orchestra. Premiered at the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival 2011 and screened on RTE 1 Ireland. Dir Frank Berry  
• 2009: Into the Light (24 mins, Director of Photography) The documentary charts the trials, tribulations and hopes of an opera cast and crew as they attempt to stage a lavish production of The Magic Flute. Screened on RTE 2 Ireland. Dir Frank Berry  
• 2008: Being Here (35 mins, Director of Photography and Editor) A documentary following a young Polish woman back to her home city of Krakow from her new home in Belfast. Broadcast on NvTv Ireland. Dir Asia Tarach.

Teaching Profile

A filmmaker with extensive experience in production, Kevin Duffy is a Lecturer in Media Practice. He lectures on both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the School of Media, designing and delivering practice-based modules in both documentary and narrative production.

He primarily lectures on the BA in Film and Broadcasting, but also teaches on the BA in Journalism programme.
