Profile
John P. Healy is a Lecturer in game design across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the School of Media, TU Dublin. His research explores the creative processes of game designers and the signature pedagogies of the discipline of game design and focuses on how the practice of digital game design unfolds at the interface between computers and culture. He is interested in the areas of game studies, specifically game production studies, as well as how creativity and implementation interact in the construction of digital games.
In addition to teaching, John maintains active industry engagement as a consultant for clients from healthcare, education, and the civil service on the implementation of game systems.
Prior to joining TU Dublin John was Head of the Games and Animation Department at Pulse College. He has worked on games for Jagex Game Studios and Jolt Online Gaming which have been played by millions of gamers worldwide.
