RTE’s Morning Ireland Broadcasts Live from School of Media TV Studio, Tallaght Campus
The School of Media was delighted to offer its Tallaght Campus television studio to Ireland’s most listened-to radio show, Morning Ireland, for a live broadcast on Friday 31 May.
The last of the programme’s series of outside broadcasts before the local and European elections on June 7, segments of the show focused on issues affecting South Dublin. Presenter Cian McCormack spoke to local activists and journalists, while reporter Marc O’Driscoll took the temperature of local residents’ views in a series of vox pops.
School of Media technicians Róisín Nic Cana and Luke Ryan worked with their RTE counterparts to ready the studio for the broadcast, which was simultaneously on radio and streamed on the RTE News Channel and app. The visual backdrop featured work from final year Media Production and Digital Arts students, produced for their recent successful graduate exhibition.
