Registration for the Certificate in Portfolio Preparation for the Screen Industry (Level 6) to assist potential applicants prepare will open in late August

After three years of development and consultation with colleagues in the Screen Industries in Ireland, supported by the TU Dublin Enterprise Academy, the School of Media at TU Dublin and Screen Ireland are delighted to announce the launch of a new Level 8 programme, the BA (Hons) in Screen Industry Practice.

The BA in Screen Industry Practice is an 18-month part-time programme, with a focus on critical reflection and self-directed learning. Aimed at experienced professionals who have been working in the screen industries for more than seven years, it will be delivered in a flexible mode to allow participants to continue in full-time careers.

Potential learners will gain entry to the programme via RPEL––recognition of prior experiential learning. This means that colleagues who have not had the opportunity to engage in formal study, but who can demonstrate, via a substantial portfolio, that they have achieved learning in the workplace, comparable to National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) Level 7, will be able to enter the equivalent of the final year of a four-year degree programme

The programme will begin in January 2025 with applications opening in late 2024. In advance of this, the School will run a Portfolio preparation module to assist in compiling a RPEL portfolio and personal statement.  Potential applicants to the BA in Screen Industry Practice are strongly encouraged to avail of this Level 6 Certificate in Portfolio Preparation for the Screen Industry, which will primarily consist of two full-day workshops, supported by online tutorials. This programme will open for registration in late August and will run from October 2024.

We would now like to invite potential applicants and members of the wider Screen Industry community to an information evening in the School of Media, room EQ116, East Quad, Grangegorman on the 22nd of August at 6.30pm.
