Mary Ann Kenny has thirty years’ experience lecturing at universities and Institutes of Technology in Ireland and abroad. Most of her teaching has been in the area of German Studies, but she has also taught undergraduate modules in Communications and English as a Foreign Language, and modules at Master’s level in Economic Translation and Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL). Within the field of German, her teaching focus has been on literature, culture, film and society, as well on the development of general language and business language skills.
Mary Ann currently holds the position of Programme Co-ordinator on the International Business programme on the Blanchardstown campus of TU Dublin. Prior to this, and for almost ten years, she held the position of Erasmus Co-ordinator (Academic) within the Dept. of Business in Blanchardstown. Mary Ann has also held positions as External Examiner in German at Cork Institute of Technology (now MTU) and Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (now ATU).
Research interests include translation pedagogy; online teaching, learning and assessment; group learning; computer-assisted language learning (CALL); discourse analysis; and critical discursive psychology.
