James is a lecturer within the area of Food & Beverage management in the School. With 20 years professional and managerial experience across many high-quality establishments including The Shelbourne Hotel and L’Ecrivain Restaurant.
Lecturing in both practical and theory modules, James is passionate about skills development, internship opportunities and critical thinking amongst the student cohort.
Currently, James is the 2nd Year BSc (Hons) Culinary Entrepreneurship Tutor, is Chairperson of the school’s internship team and is an academic sports mentor to our elite sports students within our school.
Outside of the school, James is passionate about skills and currently holds the role of deputy chief examiner for World Skills Ireland in Skill No 35- Restaurant Service.
James has received many national awards as well as a medallion of excellence at the World Skills Competition in 2007, he has master’s degree in Hospitality Management and a Postgraduate diploma in third level teaching and learning.
