Dermot’s philosophy of teaching is all about inspiration, innovation and creativity.
Dermot worked in 5 & 6 Star Hotels worldwide for over 16 years before he began his career in education at London’s Westminster Kingsway College. Leaving as head of Apprenticeships as Senior Lecturer before joining the TU Dublin Culinary Arts & Food Technology team and continuing to study to obtain a Masters Degree in Adult Further Education.
Dermot is the author of four published books to date, one of which - ‘Ireland, A Culinary Journey in the North-East’ was nominated “Best in World” by Gourmand International Cook Books. He is probably best known in the industry as a national restaurant food critic, and for his unique Regional Food Tours which attract international foodies from over twenty five different countries each year, to Ireland's Ancient East.
