Dr Brian J Murphy is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Culinary Arts and Food Technology at the Technological University Dublin. He specialises in the area of beverage , gastronomy and food and drink culture. Brian has been involved in the development and co-ordination of several degrees, most recently the Blended Post Graduate Diploma in Global Food and Drink Leadership and the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in International Hospitality and Tourism Management. In addition to his lecturing, curriculum development and postgraduate supervision roles he has published and presented extensively on the role that place and story play in contemporary food and drink culture. His current research interest explores how food and drink sites communicate and engage with different audiences. A founding committee member of the Dublin Gastronomy Symposium, Brian is also an active board member of the National Centre for Franco-Irish Studies, a research laboratory based at the Technological University Dublin.
