SCAFT staff members conferred with PhDs.
It was a special day on Friday as two of our staff members were conferred with PhDs. Dr Máírtín Mac Con Iomaire was conferred with his second PhD, this time from the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management for his thesis titled 'Championing Food Studies within the Field of Irish Studies: A Serendipitous Autoethnographic Journey Serendipitous Autoethnographic Journey'. His first PhD was in 2009 from the School of Culinary Arts and Food Technology on the history of Dublin restaurants.
Dr Orla McConnell was conferred at the same ceremony in TU Dublin, Tallaght and her thesis title is ' Professionalism in Culinary Arts: An Exploration of the Experiences of Mature Part-time Degree Students in Industry and Experiences of Mature Part-time Degree Students in Industry and Academia in Ireland using Interpretative Phenomenological Academia in Ireland using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis'.
Orla was supervised by Dr Mac Con Iomaire in the School of Culinary Arts and Food Technology.
