Alumni Chef Anna Haugh joins Masterchef: The Professionals as a judge
Chef Anna Haugh who is an alumni of the School of Culinary Arts and Food Technology at TU Dublin will join Masterchef: The Professionals as a judge when the programme returns on BBC1 later this year.
Anna graduated from the Certificate in Professional Cookery programme in 2001 and began her career in her hometown of Dublin working in L'Ecrivain with Derry Clarke.
Anna then moved to London where she worked with Shane Osborne in Pied a Terre, Philip Howard at The Square, and for the Gordon Ramsay Group.
In May 2019, she founded Myrtle Restaurant in Chelsea, London. The name Myrtle was inspired by the Irish chef Myrtle Allen, who is founder of Ballymaloe House. Anna takes old Irish recipes and refines them, making the dishes more elegant but still with the heartbeat of Ireland. At Myrtle, there is a large focus on great Irish produce, music and art. There is also a large focus on training and development of staff.
Anna has worked on numerous television shows for the BBC, she is the resident Chef on the BBC breakfast show Morning Live. She did 2 series’ of Royal Recipes and 2 series of Ready Steady Cook. Anna is a regular guest on Saturday Kitchen with Matt Tebbutt and also has hosted the programme live, as well as having been a guest judge for Master Chef and ITV’s Hell’s Kitchen.
