Charlotte Tiernan is an Assistant Lecturer on the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Drama (Performance).

Charlotte has been working in the field of creative drama for twenty years and is a qualified Dramatherapist.  She is a graduate of TU Dublin’s BA Drama Performance (formerly DIT) and holds a Masters qualification in Dramatherapy from Maynooth University. 

Charlotte is Co-Founder and Artistic Director of the Loaded Dice Theatre Company and a freelance drama facilitator and director.  Prior to joining the faculty at TU Dublin Charlotte taught on the MA in Dramatherapy at Maynooth University.  

She lectures in Drama Facilitation, Theatre in Education, Drama in Education, Drama Facilitation in Social Context and Acting and Ensemble Performance. Currently she is also Production Coordinator for the department.

Charlotte’s ethos as an educator is informed by her training in drama on a practical performance level and as a Dramatherapist.  Her belief is that students must be afforded a positive, creative learning environment grounded in respect, inclusivity and dialogue.  For students to meet their full potential as an artist, they must develop confidence and a positive sense of self worth, while being able to critically reflect on their creative work.
