Rónán continues to work as a freelance musician playing with various orchestras, musicals, bands, and TV shows.
A keen educator, Rónán worked for a year as a junior infants teacher, then on receiving his HDip he spent the next few years teaching Music and English to Leaving and Junior Certificate students in several schools including Blackrock College and Catholic University School (CUS). Rónán has also taught trumpet both privately and in a number of schools, and has been the trumpet tutor with the NYOI on several occasions.

A student of many musical genres Rónán found himself working as a DJ for Jazz FM from 2000–2002 which led to a further freelance career as a DJ playing in many venues in Dublin.
