Through his research into human dialogue, psychoanalyst Eric Berne, developed a method called transactional analysis (TA). It is essentially, a tool to unpack, demystify and decode the everyday dialogues we engage in.
This four-hour experiential workshop will offer drama facilitators a unique insight into the human mind and will use Caryl Churchill's play, Love and Information, to explore Transactional Analysis (TA), psychology, dialogue, and relationships.
On a practical level, this workshop will help the facilitator to develop self-awareness and become more inclusive. It will look at ways to create a positive creative environment and improve participants' ability to collaborate and work safely together.
On a creative level, it will help the facilitator understand character dialogue, relationships, and motivations. It will explore how this knowledge can be applied within the workshop space by creating scenes, improvisations, and drama tasks and from a theatrical point of view, it will inform facilitators in their roles as writers, directors, performers, and creators.
