An Evening Concert with Eva Amsler 12/03/2024

Come and join us on Tuesday, March,12th in the East Quad Recital Hall for an evening of music with Guest Flautist, Eva Amsler.
Also featuring performances from our very own Catherina Lemoni-O’Doherty (Piano) and Julie Maisel (Flute).
The beginning, middle and end of this recital will present French music - written for the wooden Boehm flute in the time of Impressionism - this music is full of colours and will no doubt please the ear with its late romantic harmonies.
This concert is open to all, and no booking is necessary.
Eva Amsler
After 20 years of orchestra, playing in Switzerland and serving on the Faculty of the Vorarlberg State Conservatory of Music in Feldkirch, Austria, Eva Amsler retired in May 2021 as Professor of Flute at Florida State University.
As pioneer on authentic interpretation of Baroque Music on modern flute and advocate of New Music, she enjoys a worldwide career as a performer and teacher. Eva Amsler tours and performs with The Dorian Consort and Shalev Ad-El, harpsichord. She loves all sorts of chamber settings, enjoys being a soloist and was Principal Flutist in the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra (2001-2021). She has appeared at concert venues nationally and internationally, including Carnegie Hall, Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C., the Belk Theatre in Charlotte during the NFA Convention 2011 and European Flute Festivals such as the German Flute Fest, the Spanish Convention, Flautando, Switzerland, and in South America at the Bolivian Flute Convention in La Paz, Bolivia and the Peruvian Flute Festival in Lima, Peru.
