TU Dublin Hosts Event on Unlocking Entrepreneurial Potential of People with Criminal Convictions.

The event entitled “Unlocking Doors to Entrepreneurship for People with Criminal Convictions” will take place on Thursday 28 of November, starting at 9.30am, in TU Dublin Aungier Street campus. This full day free event is hosted by TU Dublin’s EU Erasmus+ PREP (Prisoner Reintegration through Entrepreneurship and Psychology) project team (Prof. Tom Cooney and Martina Brophy) and proudly supported by PACE (Prevention – Accommodation – Community - Enterprise).

The aim of the event is to explore ways to support individuals with criminal convictions into entrepreneurship. It is open to anyone with lived experience of the criminal justice system, prison and probation staff, reintegration organisations, charities and NGOs, social enterprises and any other stakeholders with an interest in how entrepreneurship plays a role in reintegration after prison release.

Attendees can expect to observe first-hand a new, innovative e-learning programme on entrepreneurship, specifically designed for in-prison delivery. Attendees can also expect to hear from experts in prison education, prison reform and reintegration of individuals with criminal convictions. There will be much scope for debate, discussion and feedback, with the aim of arriving at practical actions for tapping into the entrepreneurial potential of individuals with criminal convictions.

Our excellent line-up of speakers include David Morgan (Founder of Entrepreneurs Unlocked, UK), Domini Kemp (CEO of Valence Hospitality), Joanne O'Dwyer (Lived Experience Recovery Advocate), Pearse O'Reilly (Social Enterprise Manager of PACE), Daisy Mills (Head of Business and Enterprise at RIFT Social Enterprise, UK) and Sean Kinsella (CEO of Sklifebalance).

We kindly ask that staff circulate this invite through their network. All interested parties are asked to register via the Eventbrite link: CLICK LINK HERE. Tickets are free of charge and limited, so please register early to avoid disappointment.
