Walktober 2023 TU Dublin winners
During October TU Dublin Sustainability called on TU Dublin students and staff to get involved with the Transport for Ireland (TFI) Smarter Travel Walktober campaign - a fun team Step Challenge open to students and staff of Smarter Travel Workplaces & Campus partners.
As part of Walktober 2023, TU Dublin encouraged our people to walk for their health and the environment, and litter picker packs were stationed at campuses. Participants had to organise themselves into teams of three-to-six people, register their team online, and use the NTA activity tracker to record their steps.
TU Dublin had four teams compete with a collective average step count of 285,406 for the month of October.
Congratulations to 'The Tourism Trekkers' who ranked as the winning team within TU Dublin, TU Dublin Sustainability are sending active travel goodies bags on their way to you - well done! The Tourism Trekkers team was made up of Dr Theresa Ryan (Team Lead), Dr Ziene Mottiar, Dr Geraldine Gorman, Dr Ruth Craggs, Dr. Bernadette Quinn, and Dr Deridre Quinn.
Well done to runners up 'Team Sustainability', and neck and neck teams 'Luke Skywalkers' and 'Steps to Sanitea'. Well done to everyone to contributed to collecting litter on campus, we have recorded that 15 bags of litter were collected across campuses during October.
