TU Dublin's new membership with the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN)

Published: 12 Jan, 2024

TU Dublin is delighted to announce its new membership with the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), and we invite students and staff to active their free membership.

Members can enjoy the benefits of exploring the SDSN's latest work, learn of upcoming events and subscribe to the monthly newsletter and other tailored communications. All SDSN members can be part of the MOBILIZE intranet, a platform through which member institutions are connected. This platform allows members to receive regular news and to announce calls, both to the global network and to our shared all-island network.

About the SDSN Network

"The SDSN works under the auspices of the UN Secretary-General to mobilise the world’s universities, think tanks, and national laboratories for action on the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change; empower societies through free online education; and translate scientific evidence and ideas into solutions and accountability. Established in 2012 by the former UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon, and world-renowned economist and professor, Jeffrey Sachs, the SDSN promotes integrated approaches to implement the SDGs and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, through education, research, policy analysis, and global cooperation."

TU Dublin's SDSN membership

On joining the SDSN global network, TU Dublin also becomes part of the SDSN Ireland, an all-island initiative launched in February of 2023 and hosted by University College Cork and Queens University Belfast. The aim of the network is to help activate universities and research centres to solve practical problems on sustainable development and in the spirit of north-south cooperation. The network works to promote initiatives to localise the 2030 Agenda around the pillars of education, awareness and engagement, and solutions.
