TU Dublin student selected for Student Leader Global Summit 2025

TU Dublin Computer Science (TU856) student Faith Omotayo is one of three students in Ireland who has been selected to participate in the International Association of Student Affairs and Services (IASAS) Student Leader Global Summit.
This year's annual event, which will be held at University College Cork (UCC) between Tuesday 17 and Thursday 19 June 2025, will bring together student leaders from different parts of the World to discuss student governance, leadership, mental health and wellbeing, and other topics of shared interest.
Together with students from across the world, second year, Faith Omotayo, will progress the key objectives for the summit:
- Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - Explore the role of student leaders in promoting environmental, economic, and social sustainability
- Global Citizenship - Develop awareness of global interconnectivity and the responsibilities of being part of a global community
- Ethical Leadership - Understand the role of ethics in decision-making and foster integrity in leadership practices
- Global North -v- Global South - Insights into the North-South divergences in approaching the SDGs
- Service-learning and Volunteerism - Gain knowledge of civic responsibilities and issues that pose problems for many people in this world
- Resilience and Adaptability - Develop skills to navigate uncertainty and adapt to changing circumstances in a global context
Speaking proudly about Faith's work within TU Dublin, Student Volunteering Coordinator, Claire Flannery, said:
Faith is an exemplar student leader at TU Dublin, and represents the University across multiple projects and initiatives; Faith has an abundance of brilliant ideas, incredible energy, and is a positive force among her peers at TU Dublin. She is Chairperson for CS++ (Computer Science Society), Student Advisor of Student Volunteer Ireland, a volunteer LIFT Facilitator and a participant in TU Dublin's TrailBlazHER programme - Faith has excelled with all of these roles and activities. We are very proud that Faith is representing TU Dublin at the upcoming Global Student Leadership Summit and are delighted to support her.

Student Volunteer Ireland centres student voice in decision-making through our Student Advisory Group, of which Faith Omotayo is a member, bringing her knowledge of effective student engagement at TU Dublin. Faith has been selected as a standout applicant for the upcoming Student Leader Global Summit (SLGS) to navigate contemporary global issues building networks and a skill-set for ethical leadership. Faith will bring forward her experiences into her future volunteering as the TU Dublin representative, enriching all our university community.
