TU Dublin brings the world’s largest green business ideas competition to Ireland

Published: 28 Apr, 2022

Climate change is something we can solve together. Not with one single change, but with thousands of small changes, many of which will be delivered by green start-ups.

The global green business ideas competition – ClimateLaunchpad – is looking for ideas from Irish based individuals and teams. The competition is open to anyone with a promising cleantech idea - including students, start-ups, SMEs, researchers, public organisations, or any combination.

The competition, supported in Ireland by Technological University Dublin’s GROWTHhub, welcomes innovative business ideas in renewable energy, energy efficiency, food and agriculture, water, transportation, industrial technology or any other way to tackle climate change.

ClimateLaunchpad is more than a competition. TU Dublin GROWTH Hub Lead Paul O’Reilly explains, “It is a learning experience that helps all those who participate shape their business ideas. You may think that your idea is great, but growing that idea into a thriving business is a different proposition, and this is where ClimateLaunchpad can help! Your idea doesn’t have to be completely developed; it can still be something you scribbled on the back of a napkin! ClimateLaunchpad will help you transform your idea into a business with the potential to tackle climate change and make a profit.”

How to enter?

Applicants can submit their idea through the application form on the ClimateLaunchpad website.

What happens after submitting an idea?

ClimateLaunchpad is open for applications in Ireland until Friday, 6 May 2022. Information on how to enter the competition is available at www.climatelaunchpad.org.
