Fostering the development of sustainability-focused global citizens
Over 60 TU Dublin teaching staff took part in the Sustainability Education Symposium, on Wednesday, 12 June, 2024, in the Central Quad, Grangegorman campus.
The event focused on the Planet pilar of TU Dublin's Strategic Intent objective to fostering the development of sustainability-focused global citizens. The event also included an opportunity to experience the ‘Step into the Doughnut’ workshop which took place outdoors, view the Hidden Scientists Hidden Designer exhibition and hear from colleagues about how they are embedding sustainability into their teaching practice.
To close the event, the group enjoyed a musical performance from Trad musicians from the Conservatoire and celebrated the achievements of colleagues who completed the TU Dublin CPD in Educating for Sustainability and the National Forum Digital Badge in Education for Sustainability this academic year with 60 members of staff completing the courses.
- Twenty-one received a Certificate in Educating for Sustainability (Level 9, 5 ECTS)
- and 39 completed the Digital Badge in Education for Sustainability (National Forum, delivered in collaboration with SETU and ATU), with 10 participants also completing the facilitator's badge
